About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Import Coordinator to manage end-to-end Air Freight Imports for a leading global freight forwarder. As an Air Freight Import Coordinator, you will handle import operations and customs processes, ensuring the smooth flow of shipments, full compliance, and a high level of customer service.

The Air Freight Import Clerk is responsible for the efficient handling of air freight import shipments from arrival through to final delivery, ensuring compliance with customs, airline, and company procedures while delivering excellent customer service to clients and partners.


Key Responsibilities

Imports:
•Handle end-to-end air freight import shipments from pre-alert through to final delivery
• Receive, review, and process required shipping documents such as AWBs, invoices, packing lists and certificates
• Liaison with airlines, handling agents, customs authorities, overseas agents and hauliers
• Ensure to keep customers informed throughout the shipment process
• Arrange and manage customs clearance, ensuring adherence with HMRC and UK Border Force regulations
• Coordinate delivery instructions and transport bookings

Customs:
• Prepare and submit accurate customs entries via ASM Sequoia
• Ensure full compliance with import regulations, controlled goods, and company SOPs
• Identify and resolve any customs queries, delays or inspections
• Ensure that accurate records are kept, in line with audit and compliance requirements

Administration & Systems:
• Ensure to update FMS (Freight Management Systems) with accurate shipment data
• Raising of invoices and validate costs against supplier charges
• Support monthly KPI reporting and operational reviews when required


Key Requirements

Essential:
3–5 years’ experience across Air Imports
• Experience using CDS or ASM Sequoia
• Confident with Freight Management Systems, MS Office, Email etc.
• Hold a practical working knowledge of customs procedures
• Excellent time management and organisational skills

Desirable:
• Knowledge of Customs compliance and post-clearance process
• Understanding of INCO Terms

9:00am–5:30 + Overtime (paid at additional rates)
