One of Suffolk’s top waste and recycling companies — committed to making a real difference for the community and the environment are looking for an experienced and motivated Depot Manager to lead their busy recycling facility and help them continue setting the standard for excellence in their industry.

THE ROLE

We’re on the hunt for an experienced Depot Manager to take charge of planning, coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day operations at a busy Waste Recycling Facility. This is a hands-on role where you’ll make sure everything in the MRF runs safely, smoothly and in line with legislation, health and safety, and internal policies.

You’ll also be the go-to leader for a team of around 15 people—including transport, business support and EQHS leads—guiding them, supporting them and keeping the whole operation on track. A key part of the role is making smart commercial decisions, staying on top of budgets and cost control, and maintaining a strong safety culture. Basically, if it helps the depot operate better, safer or more efficiently, you’ll be right in the middle of it.

EXPERIENCE NEEDED

You’ll need solid senior-level experience in the waste or recycling sector—bonus points if you’ve worked with balers, clamp trucks or loading shovels. Experience gained in settings such as an MRF, waste transfer station, recycling facility, treatment plant, quarry, aggregates, plastics, metals, paper, card or glass operations would fit the bill nicely.

You should be a confident leader who thrives under pressure, knows how to motivate a team and communicates clearly. IT literacy is important too.

A passion for maintaining a positive Health & Safety culture is essential.

IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications are great to have, but not deal-breakers.

A COTC4 (WAMITAB) qualification—or being on the road to achieving it—is desirable. If you’re not already certified, support can be provided once you’re in the role.
