Logistics provider based in Felixstowe are seeking a Freight Forwarder with Customs experience to join their friendly team. Ideally someone with a couple of years’ experience looking to progress and learn more.

A busy (and genuinely friendly) logistics provider based in Felixstowe is on the lookout for a Freight Forwarder with Customs experience to join their team. If you’ve got a couple of years under your belt and you’re ready to level up your logistics game, this could be your next move.

They specialise in food, ceramics, and electronic shipments — so yes, you might be moving anything from fine china to frozen prawns to the latest gadgets. No two days are the same (and that’s half the fun).

About the Role

We’re looking for a reliable, detail-loving Freight Forwarder who understands customs processes and doesn’t panic at the sight of a tariff code. If you enjoy keeping shipments on track, solving problems before your second coffee, and making paperwork behave itself — you’ll fit right in.

Experience with IPAFFS and CHEDs would be a big plus, especially given the food sector focus. If those acronyms don’t scare you, we’re already impressed.

What You’ll Be Doing

Freight Coordination

  • Booking and tracking shipments by sea and road
  • Working with carriers to keep deliveries timely and cost-effective
  • Handling all the essential paperwork — bills of lading, invoices, insurance documents (yes, all the exciting stuff)

Customs Clearance

  • Managing the customs clearance process from start to finish
  • Making sure shipments comply with ever-changing regulations
  • Staying on top of tariffs, duties, and legislation updates (because someone has to)

Customer Support

  • Keeping clients informed about their shipments
  • Offering advice on customs procedures, taxes, and potential delays
  • Working closely with internal teams to keep everything running like clockwork (or at least like a very efficient smartwatch)

Problem-Solving

  • Tackling delays, customs queries, and document hiccups head-on
  • Finding solutions quickly — because cargo waits for no one

Record Keeping

  • Maintaining organised, accurate records of shipments and compliance documentation
  • Keeping everything audit-ready and beautifully in order

What They’re Looking For

  • Experience: 1–2 years in freight forwarding with hands-on customs experience
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of international shipping rules, customs processes, and logistics systems (e.g. MultiFreight, CDS)
  • Bonus Points: Experience with IPAFFS and CHEDs — especially useful given the food imports focus
  • Personality: Strong communicator, natural problem solver, team player, and master of juggling deadlines without dropping the (ceramic) ball

If you’re ready to join a supportive team, expand your knowledge, and move everything from seafood to smartphones across borders smoothly — this could be your next great opportunity.
