£30,000 - £35,000 basic + annual bonus + benefits (OTE up to £38,500)
Full Time | Permanent I Hybrid Available (after probation period)

We’re recruiting for a CAD / Design Technician to join the technical team of a successful and well-established business within the construction products sector.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with technical drawings, design information, documentation and problem-solving, and is looking to build their career within a supportive, structured and technically focused environment.

If you’ve worked in construction, architecture, building products, roofing, cladding, facades, insulation or a similar technical design environment, and you’re confident using CAD and interpreting architectural drawings, this could be a great next step.

The Role...

Working as part of a busy Technical team, you’ll support the business through the production of technical design drawings, checking and processing technical documentation, and assisting with design-related calculations within a specialist environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Producing, checking and processing technical design drawings
• Reviewing and processing technical documentation
• Supporting with technical calculations and design information
• Working from architectural and construction drawings
• Liaising with internal technical teams and external contacts
• Responding to technical queries by phone and email
• Providing day-to-day support within a busy Technical department

This is a role where accuracy, organisation, technical curiosity and attention to detail are key.

About You...

We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate:

• Experience within the construction or architectural industry
• A working knowledge of CAD
• Confidence reading and interpreting architectural / construction drawings
• A technical mindset with strong attention to detail
• Excellent computer literacy and confidence handling technical documentation
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach

Backgrounds that could be a strong fit include:

• CAD Technician
• Architectural Technician / Architectural Technologist
• Design Technician
• Technical Coordinator / Design Coordinator
• Technical support or design roles within roofing, waterproofing, cladding, facades, insulation, building products or wider construction

Experience in roofing, waterproofing or building envelope systems would be advantageous, but is not essential.
