West Bromwich | Logistics & Freight | Export Customs Specialist (IRE)

Salary: £38,000 - £42,000

A well-established logistics business is looking to appoint an Export Customs Specialist to support and manage export customs processes, with a particular focus on Irish customs regulations and freight movement between the UK and Ireland.

This is a great opportunity to join a growing freight and logistics operation, playing a key role in ensuring efficient, compliant, and smooth customs clearance for export shipments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage export customs declarations and associated documentation
• Ensure compliance with UK and Irish customs regulations for freight movements
• Liaise with internal teams, customers, and customs authorities to ensure timely clearance of shipments
• Review and prepare export documentation, including commercial invoices and customs entries
• Monitor changes in customs legislation and procedures relating to UK–Ireland trade
• Provide guidance to customers and internal teams on customs processes and requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve customs clearance issues or delays

Requirements

• Proven experience working in export customs or freight forwarding customs operations
• Strong knowledge of Irish customs procedures and regulations
• Experience handling customs declarations and export documentation
• Good understanding of UK customs processes post-Brexit
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills when dealing with customers and regulatory bodies

Desirable

• Experience within a freight forwarding or logistics company
• Familiarity with customs software systems and electronic declarations
• Knowledge of EU customs processes
