We’re looking for 3 x HGV 1 Shunters to join our customer’s operation based in Felixstowe.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced HGV 1 drivers looking for regular, local work with consistent Monday–Friday night shifts.

You will  be shunting containers to and from the Port of Felixstowe, while keeping the same trailer throughout your shift — no long-distance trips, no weekend work and plenty of regularity.

The Role

You will be operating an HGV 1 unit with a 40ft trailer, moving containers locally to and from the Port of Felixstowe.

It’s a straightforward, local shunting role where reliability, communication and safety are key.

What You’ll Do

Operate an HGV 1 unit with a 40ft trailer.

Shunt containers to and from the Port of Felixstowe.

Keep the same trailer throughout your shift.

Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors using a radio system.

Complete local movements safely and efficiently.

Work Monday–Friday, 18:30–05:00.

Work approximately 52.5 hours per week.

Take advantage of paid breaks — because even shunters need a breather!

Follow all Health & Safety procedures and site requirements.

Who You Are

You hold a valid HGV 1 / Category CE Licence, with CPC and Tacho Card.

You have a minimum of 2 years’ HGV 1 driving experience.

Container experience is essential.

You will be required to hold a Rhides Card.

You’re confident communicating via a radio system.

You’re punctual, reliable and trustworthy.

You have excellent communication skills and take pride in working safely.

You’re authorised to work in the UK.
