A growing logistics company is looking for an experienced Freight Forwarding Team Leader to join its expanding team and lead a small team of two and growing….

The successful candidate will be a freight forwarding whizz who knows their Destin8 from their Multifreight and doesn’t break into a cold sweat when customs get involved!

This is a hands-on leadership role, covering team management, customer service, quotations, customs and day-to-day freight forwarding operations.

The Role

The Freight Forwarding Team Leader will:

  • Lead and support a team of two.
  • Manage import and export freight forwarding operations.
  • Prepare quotations and manage customer accounts.
  • Handle customs procedures and documentation.
  • Liaise with customers, hauliers, shipping lines, agents and other partners.
  • Keep shipments moving and resolve the inevitable “Where is my shipment?” moments.
  • Help improve processes as the company continues to grow.
  • Keep the team organised, commercially focused and, ideally, well caffeinated.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong freight forwarding experience.
  • Good knowledge of customs and import/export procedures.
  • Experience with quoting and customer management.
  • Previous team-leading or supervisory experience.
  • Experience using Multifreight, Destin8 and Claris CNS.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach.
  • The ability to get things done without needing their hand held.
