Class 1 Night HGV Driver

TLP Recruitment are currently recruiting for experienced HGV Class 1 Night Drivers to join a well-established and prestigious client based in Ipswich.

The role will involve a combination of road driving and shunting duties, so applicants must be confident and experienced in both aspects of HGV Class 1 work.

What will you be doing?

• Operating HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles safely and professionally.
• Carrying out night-time road driving as required.
• Undertaking shunting duties within the site/depot.
• Completing deliveries and collections where required.
• Carrying out daily vehicle safety and defect checks.
• Ensuring loads are secure and transported safely.
• Completing delivery paperwork and electronic documentation accurately.
• Communicating effectively with the transport office and site teams.
• Following all relevant Drivers’ Hours, Working Time and Health & Safety regulations.
• Maintaining a professional and safety-focused approach at all times.

What do we need from you?

• Valid Category C+E (Class 1) licence.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• Experience of shunting and road driving preferred.
• Good knowledge of Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Regulations.
• Reliable, punctual and professional approach.
• Positive, can-do attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to complete vehicle checks and paperwork accurately.
• Commitment to safe and responsible driving.
• Flexibility and willingness to work night shifts.
