Meet Jamal Wiggins: TLP's Senior Recruitment Consultant for East Anglia & Essex

If you work in logistics or transport across East Anglia and Essex, chances are you've either worked with Jamal Wiggins or you should.

Jamal joined The Logistics Partnership straight out of college and has never looked back. Starting out as a branch administrator, he worked his way through to trainee consultant and is now a Senior Recruitment Consultant with over 15 years of specialist experience in the sector. His entire career has been built within logistics and transport recruitment. And it shows.

What Jamal covers

Over the past decade, Jamal has worked exclusively in the temporary recruitment space. His specialist areas include:

  • HGV Drivers (Class 1 & 2) – port logistics, freight and distribution across East Anglia
  • Forklift Drivers – counterbalance and reach truck operators for warehouse and distribution environments
  • Warehouse Operatives – pick/pack, goods-in/out, loading and general warehouse roles across varying shift patterns
  • Port Operations – including large-scale contract support at Felixstowe

Honest recruitment, not hard sell

Jamal isn't your typical recruiter. He takes the time to understand what clients and candidates actually need before making any recommendations, and he'd sooner tell you something can't be done than promise it and let you down.

As he puts it, "I'd rather be honest with people. If you can do something, you can. If you can't, you can't. People appreciate that more than being told what they want to hear."

That means no overpromising, clear expectations, honest market insight, consistent communication, and a genuine focus on long-term partnership.

More than just filling a vacancy

Jamal's approach goes well beyond making a placement. His team runs pre-onboarding site tours so candidates know the environment, the team, and what to expect before their first day, which means fewer drop-offs and smoother starts. When a placement doesn't work out, they find out why and feed that back directly to the candidate, because honest feedback helps people improve and find the right fit.

He also keeps clients ahead of the curve, advising on seasonal spikes, candidate shortages and market shifts so they can plan proactively rather than react. And with a core pool of temps placed week in, week out, his team maintains regular contact with candidates so they're ready to respond when volume changes.

15 years of local knowledge

Candidate pools in logistics and transport are regional. Knowing who's available, who's reliable, and who's between roles takes years to build. That, and the Felixstowe/Ipswich corridor has its own rhythm that only comes with experience. Seasonal peaks, port contracts, local demand patterns: Jamal knows the companies, the candidates, and the conditions.

Get in touch

Whether you're planning for peak season, responding to a sudden uplift in demand, or looking to build a longer-term supply of temporary staff across East Anglia, Jamal is the person to speak to.
