The roles
Whether you're an experienced van driver or looking for steady warehouse shifts in the run up to Christmas, there's a role to suit you.
Van Driver
Van Drivers deliver parcels on local multi-drop routes in vans up to 3.5 tonnes, with collections on some routes. Routes are typically 50 to 70 drops a day, so it's a great fit for confident drivers who enjoy being out on the road and working independently. Previous van driving experience is needed for peak roles.
Warehouse Operative
Warehouse Operatives keep parcels moving through busy sites, from sorting and scanning to loading and unloading. It suits people who like to keep active, enjoy working as part of a team and want regular shifts in the run up to Christmas.
Processor
Processors handle parcels as they arrive and leave the site, checking, scanning and preparing them for the next stage of their journey. It's ideal if you have a good eye for detail and like a well organised, fast moving environment.
Class 2 Driver
Class 2 Drivers move larger loads between sites and hubs. You'll need a Category C licence, a valid Driver CPC and a digital tachograph card. Temporary peak work is a great way to pick up extra hours or try a new client.

Where can I find Christmas Van driver jobs near me?
TLP is hiring Christmas Van Drivers in locations across England and Wales, including Bristol, Manchester, Minworth, Northampton and Exeter. You can search every live role at tlprecruitment.co.uk/jobs and apply in about two minutes, or call Avi and Sadie to talk through the jobs near you.
Do I need experience to be a Van driver for peak?
Yes, for peak roles you will need some previous experience of driving a van. The Christmas period is very busy, so sites are looking for drivers who are already confident on the road. Outside peak, some sites offer training for newer drivers.
What licence do I need to drive a 3.5 tonne van?
A full UK car licence (category B) lets you drive vans up to 3.5 tonnes, which covers our Van roles. The minimum age and the number of years you need to have held your licence vary by site, so the team will confirm what applies to you.
How quickly can I start a temporary warehouse job?
Most people start within around two weeks of applying. Once you apply, the team will call you, arrange a short informal chat and help you through a few simple checks, so you can get started as quickly as possible.
Can a Christmas temp job become permanent?
Yes, many peak roles can lead to longer-term work. Our client values people who bring a positive attitude and show they want to progress, and there are good opportunities to stay on after Christmas.
What checks are involved for logistics jobs?
Some roles include a few standard checks, such as confirming your work history and a basic DBS check. Avi and Sadie will explain exactly what is needed for your role and help you through each step, so there is nothing to worry about.
