International transport company based in Immingham with a European HQ are seeking an experience Truck Planner/Dispatcher to join our dynamic team in Immingham.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and dispatching trucks to ensure timely and efficient delivery operations. The Truck Planner / Dispatcher will work closely with drivers, customers, and the operations team to ensure smooth operations, effective route planning, and adherence to company safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and dispatch trucks for pickups and deliveries based on customer needs, route efficiency, and vehicle availability.
- Coordinate with drivers to ensure timely departures and arrivals.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, routes, and schedules in the system.
- Monitor real-time traffic conditions and adjust routes accordingly to optimize delivery times and minimize delays.
- Communicate regularly with drivers to provide updates, address issues, and provide support.
- Handle customer inquiries related to delivery status, delays, and other concerns.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a dispatching or truck planning role (at least 2 years preferred).
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in dispatching software
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly in high-pressure situations.
