Hours 07.30-6.30pm Rota (07.30-1600 / 9.30-1800) and weekend on call 1 in 4

Company Overview
International transport company based in Felixstowe with a European HQ are seeking an experience Transport Planner/Dispatcher to join our dynamic team in Felixstowe.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and dispatching trucks to ensure timely and efficient delivery operations. The Transport Planner / Dispatcher will work closely with drivers, customers, and the operations team to ensure smooth operations, effective route planning, and adherence to company safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and dispatch trucks for pickups and deliveries based on customer needs, route efficiency, and vehicle availability.
  • Coordinate with drivers to ensure timely departures and arrivals.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, routes, and schedules in the system.
  • Monitor real-time traffic conditions and adjust routes accordingly to optimize delivery times and minimize delays.
  • Communicate regularly with drivers to provide updates, address issues, and provide support.
  • Handle customer inquiries related to delivery status, delays, and other concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a dispatching or truck planning role (at least 2 years preferred).
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in dispatching software
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly in high-pressure situations.
