Transport Planner

TLP are currently recruiting on behalf of an industry leading logistics provided for a Transport Planner with Pallet Network experience based out of Eastleigh.

The main purpose of this role will be to work alongside the Transport Manager & Assistant Transport Manager/Supervisor and you will be responsible for effectively and efficiently plan the fleet of vehicles, ensuring their maximum utilisation, and customer expectations are achieved.

What you'll do:

• Produce a daily Transport Plan in line with customer orders and expectations, negotiating best times where possible to best utilise the fleet using geographical knowledge and traffic management systems
• Utilise vehicles to plan all vehicles with a view to support and maximise daily revenue targets.
• Liaise with customers in a professional manner and to ensure customer requirements are achieved.
• Resource subcontractors ensuring full induction / company standards are communicated and formally agreed, when efficient to use.
• Attend daily planning review meetings to approve next day and night plan
• Ensure plans are at best cost solutions
• Update systems accurately and utilise functionality.
• You will produce clear and concise written reports using relevant data & information

Requirements

• Local road haulage knowledge advantageous
• Must have experience within pallets and pallet network
• You must have a full understanding of Tachograph, working time and driver hours legislation
