Exciting Opportunity for Experienced Purchasing Supervisors
A leading international construction company with over 150 years of history is experiencing significant growth and is looking for two experienced Purchasing Supervisors to join their dynamic team.
As a Purchasing Supervisor, you will oversee a small team of Purchasing Coordinators and be responsible for:
- Providing daily guidance and training to the team
- Enhancing the team's skills to ensure a broad and diverse purchasing knowledge across the department
- Actively fostering team engagement through coaching, mentoring, and regular 1-2-1 sessions
- Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with suppliers, conducting regular reviews, and driving change and improvement plans
- Managing escalated issues within the team
- Presenting key data and insights
- Leading pricing reviews and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
The ideal candidate will have prior experience managing and leading teams with diverse skill levels. We’re looking for someone who is ready to take on the managerial responsibilities of this role while also contributing to the team’s social dynamics. You should be someone who sets clear expectations, drives high performance, and thrives in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
Key Skills & Experience:
- CIPS Level 4 qualification (or a willingness to pursue it)
- Experience working with suppliers, clients, and both internal and external stakeholders
- Extensive experience in purchasing
- Previous supervisory experience, including team coaching, supplier relationship management, and performance development
- Proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong people management and influencing skills
- Familiarity with supply chain procedures
- A broad knowledge of purchasing processes and structures, with the ability to share and upskill others

- Strong administrative and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines
- Discretion and confidentiality in all matters
- Team-oriented and collaborative
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Advanced computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft products (PowerPoint, Word, Mail Merge, Excel, etc.)
- Willingness to work extra hours as needed
