Import/Export Operations - Witham

 

Job Summary:

Dynamic family run Freight Forwarders with over a 35-year history are seeking an experienced Import/Export Operations person to join them in their office in Witham

 

They're are seeking a bright, enthusiastic individual with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in freight forwarding, with a strong focus on export operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the end-to-end export process, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage customer relationships and operational tasks with accuracy and efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage export shipments from start to finish, ensuring compliance with all country-specific regulations and requirements.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service and timely updates.
  • Handle both import and export shipments, ensuring all operational procedures are followed correctly.
  • Manage documentation flow accurately and in a timely manner, including customs paperwork and invoicing.
  • Arrange bookings for air, sea, and road freight, ensuring transport aligns with client and shipment requirements.
  • Support both suppliers and customers with queries, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure timely billing in accordance with company policy.
  • Raise invoices and manage files from start to finish.
  • Work independently within the export framework while also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Ensure full understanding and correct application of Incoterms, supplier conditions, delivery terms, and purchasing terms.
  • Maintain high data accuracy standards in all system inputs and invoicing.
  • Proactively manage and resolve customer queries and complaints in line with company policies and service standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a freight forwarding import and export operations role.
  • Confident in managing full shipment lifecycles (air, sea, and road).
  • Strong knowledge of freight systems and invoicing tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Comfortable working both independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
